This qualification has been designed to support an individual's entry into the teaching/training industry, and is aimed specifically at those wishing to be employed in the outdoor learning sector. ITC is well-placed in the outdoor learning sector and envisages that this qualification will enable successful candidates to become an outdoor learning specialist

roles and responsibilities,
legislation,
pedagogical principles,
theories, principles and models of teaching.
learning,
communication,
assessment,
specialist topics in outdoor learning are also covered.
plan and deliver sessions to groups of learners,
plan a scheme of work,
study outdoor learning techniques to level 5,
develop their professional practice to a high level

How is this Qualification Assessed?

This qualification is assessed by the completion of a portfolio of evidence and practical observation by an expert assessor.

Plus additional self-guided study time

To undertake this qualification, delivery of a minimum of 100 hours of teaching practice is required, with observation of some of these sessions. Access to groups of learners and real-life teaching practice is therefore required.
