Course Overview
Preparing to Teach in the Life Long Learning Sector is the minimum standard threshold qualification for all those wishing to deliver training in the lifelong learning sector. It is the necessary threshold for those delivering accredited qualifications in the FE sector.
The award is based upon the professional standards for teachers, tutors and trainers working within the Life Long Learning Sector.
Immediate Temporary Care is an approved Ascentis Centre for this qualification. We normally use the premises we have in Hartlepool or Sheffield for delivering the PTLLS qualification.
The course is normally delivered over 5 intensive day with both pre and post course supported workload. A typical programme:
* Register 1 month before 5-day programme for induction, reading list, preparatory advice, essential administration and preparation.
* 5-day intensive, interactive, training event including delivery and analysis of teaching sessions.
* Course assessment assignment completion within 1 month of the end date of the 5-day programme. Tutor feedback and advice available by telephone, email or visit.
* Assessment assignments are:
Written assignment of roles and responsibilities of a teacher.
A short microteach
An evaluation of your recent microteach
Successful completion of the course allows for affiliate membership of the Institute for Learning (IfL).
The course is confirmed one month before the 5-day event. We require minimum of 6 participants to deliver this qualification.
The payment for this course follows a precise system.
* To book on a course send a cheque for the full course fee. This application and cheque will be stored.
* If there are not 6 paid up participants one month before the programme, the event will be cancelled.
* Any stored cheques will be destroyed or posted back to you as you wish.
